Deposit vs. pet rent
A pet deposit is a one-time amount, sometimes partly refundable. Pet rent is a recurring monthly charge. Some properties charge one, some charge both. Always ask which applies and get the number before you apply.
Weight and breed restrictions
Many properties cap pet weight or restrict certain breeds, and most limit the number of pets per apartment. Ask specifically about your animal rather than assuming — policies vary property to property, not town to town.
