Two districts, one town
Yukon Public Schools serves most of the city, including the Kimbell Road, Garth Brooks Blvd, and Cornwell areas. Mustang Public Schools serves portions of the south side. Because the boundary doesn't follow city limits, you must verify by exact street address — not by ZIP code and not by what a listing says.
Call the district directly with the address before you sign. It takes five minutes and prevents a very stressful August.
What both districts are known for
Both are large, well-established suburban districts with strong athletics, band and fine arts programs, and CareerTech pathways. Families moving from out of state generally find the transition straightforward.
What to bring to enrollment
- Proof of residency — a signed lease works
- Birth certificate
- Immunization records
- Previous school records or transcripts
- Parent/guardian photo ID
Beyond K-12
Redlands Community College in El Reno and the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond are both reasonable drives, and Metro Tech and Canadian Valley Technology Center serve adult learners in the area.
Space for a growing family
One reason families rent in Yukon is that larger floor plans are actually attainable here. Charlemagne offers 3 and 4-bedroom apartments — the 4-bedroom tops out at $1,150/month, which is difficult to match closer to the city.
